Caine is completely grounded when he is stranded in a small town by the sea. In the harbor lies the yacht of a certain Professor Malare, who pretends to fish and dive for pleasure, but in reality is on the trail of a sunken treasure of gold. Caine, who has been trying to smuggle weapons, wants to get away at all costs, especially since the police are clearly watching him. Now a native boy, who worked for the professor, happened to be killed by a shark. The professor and his assistant, somewhat reluctantly because they have no other choice, hire Caine.
