Shanghai Bound plot
In a time of revolution-torn China, Jim Bucklin, captain of the river freighter Fan Tan, anchors off Chow Luen, a town near Shanghai. There Jim finds a starving population in revolt. In a small cafe he meets the prostitute Shanghai Rose. During his meal, the ship's owner Louden, his daughter Sheila, his manager Payson and the aristocratic Englishman Algy arrive, all demanding food from him.
