Condottieri plot
Italy in the time of the Renaissance. The fortress of the Duke of Lombardy is under heavy siege. When the Duke is killed in the fierce fighting, his wife Caterina Sforza flees into the mountains with her son Giovanni. But Giovanni does not let the story end with the loss of his mother's fortress. A historical portrait of Giovanni de' Medici (1498-1526), who returned from exile and became captain under the name Giovanni delle Bande Nere in the service of the idea of a united Italy.
