"A legend born in battle"
In the 13th century, Batu Khan spent two months attempting to capture the city of Kozelsk. He lost many men and siege weapons in the process. When he finally captured the city, he killed all the defenders, including women and children, and ordered the name Kozelsk to be forgotten.
