The Miracle Kid plot
Jimmy Conley is a prizefighter. He plans to end his career because his fiancée hates boxing and doesn't want him to be beaten to a pulp in the ring. After defeating an opponent, he accuses him of bringing him 'bad luck'. Jimmy's promoter tries to exploit this angle by staging a series of rigged fights. Jimmy is soon dubbed 'The Miracle Kid' and wins fight after fight, but loses his fiancée in the process. Worst of all, Jimmy thinks he's really good and has no idea his opponents are making fake dives. Will he repent in time?
