Shershaah plot
As a child, Vikram Batra sees a TV show honoring soldiers in his neighbors' house and decides to become a soldier. Years later, Vikram is part of the Indian army and is in love with Dimple, a Sikh. However, her father is against their relationship and Vikram decides to join the merchant navy for her, but his plans change. Vikram is placed in Kashmir. During an operation, Vikram inspires many of his senior officers and becomes one of the best officers on the team. He is stationed in the war-stricken Kargil area, where he leads many successful operations. His intransigence and his unshakable courage in driving the Pakistani soldiers from Indian territory contribute enormously to India's ultimate victory in the Kargil War in Kashmir in 1999. For this he is posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, the highest and most prestigious award for bravery in India.
