Navy Seals plot
"Born to risk, trained to win, they're Navy Seals."
The Navy Seals special unit was founded in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy and prepared to be deployed day and night in the defense of America. During a routine rescue mission in the war-ravaged Middle East, the Seals discover that highly dangerous and deadly Stinger missiles have fallen into the hands of the world's most feared terrorists. The Seals can capture some of them, but fail to get hold of the missiles. A second intervention is necessary. However, James, the leader of the Navy Seals, wants to prepare himself down to the last detail and contacts journalist Claire. After all, she has been studying the political problems of the Middle East and the activities of terrorist leaders for several years now. He hopes she can help him discover the location of the missiles.

Messy story, saltless action scenes, poor acting and dubious positions: Navy Seals is junk from the top or bottom shelf. The scene in which the gentlemen go out to play golf (which song is playing below) is one of the worst in film history.

Very entertaining, typical 80s action film, where the very nice score stands out at times. Lovely 80's cast also with Sheen, Biehn and Paxton. This director has quite a few good films to his name.

Terrible guilty pleasure that I always watch anyway. It's not all that good, though.
About glorification at its best in a way too macho and tough image around Navy Seals. Each and every one of the men seems to be, especially Sheen, a bunch of crazy cowboys and adrenaline junkies rather than a crack elite unit.
Still, in all that macho stuff and easy and tough violence, the film has quite a high factor in terms of entertainment. Yet in such a case Act of Valor is better, the acting is not much better but the violence and actions all the more.
