Murder on the Roof plot

a hapless lawyer, with connections to a diamond thief, is charged with murdering the thief by the owner of the nightclub on whose roof the body was found. The lawyer's daughter wants to prove her father's innocence and takes a job as a singer at the club, where she becomes a local celebrity.
