""Come and Get Us - This Time We Scram - or Croak!""
Johnny Adams arrives at a brutal prison under an assumed name after deliberately setting himself up to kill White, a captain of the guards, for beating Johnny's father to death. Rev. Thomas Stoner, also newly arrived, is the new prison chaplain. He is opposed by Schafer, the prison warden. Stoner learns of Johnny's intentions and stops him from following through with his plan, but when convict 'Blackie' kills Drew White, Johnny is blamed.
