Despite being the best in the business, the outspoken Don Phelan is fired from his job as a top news reporter. He teams up with the beautiful thrill-seeker Wilma to start their own company, unaware that her father owns a rival newsreel company. Don comes up with a new format that is guaranteed to bring them success, but a competitor steals the secret and introduces the same idea. When Don discovers Wilma's real identity, he mistakenly believes that the woman he loves is the one who betrayed him.
