Diana (Amy Irving) and Julie (Patsy Kensit) lead two very different lives. Diana is in her thirties, rich, married and owns two houses. However, she does not know how to give meaning to her life in a meaningful way and fills her days with drinking and eating chocolate. Julie is a young girl who has been roaming New York and living on the streets for ten years. The women have one thing in common: they are both kleptomaniacs. When Julie's boyfriend is murdered, she vows revenge.
