"A romance of Bonnie Scotland and the Canadian Northwest"

Although loved by Scottish miner Jock MacTier, Margaret MacPherson marries treasurer Arthur Whitman. After saving his rival's life in a mine flood, Jock goes to Canada and joins the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. There he meets Lenore De Marney, whose father is a fur smuggler with a reputation.
