I thought this film was epic enough at the time to want the VHS tape. Whether the burglars would have agreed with me a year or so later was never discussed, thanks to the VCR that had already swallowed the tape before then.

Some thirty years later, the film is barely outdated, and Alt and Pfeiffer are still just as handsome. Back then, it wasn't so much Luke as Nick who I saw as a style guide. Much smarter and with better hair. But I don't think any of them have done anything serious since this film. Oh, Marc Dacascos, meh. And Alt, even worse.

The ending of this story is too weak; all the film's points are in the first hour. And there aren't that many anyway. Style points for Deedee in the sex swing; that must have caused some restless nights back then. How she didn't get a decent Hollywood career out of it is beyond me.

There's really only one thing this film does well, and that's the song over the credits: Mary Black, The Loving Time. I even wrote down the lyrics back then—maybe that's why the band got eaten up. Yeah, that's how it worked back then.
