Dangerous plot
Ex-con and reformed sociopath Dylan Forrester quietly tries to serve his parole. He does that with the help of a steady supply of antidepressants and his eccentric psychiatrist. But when his brother dies in mysterious circumstances, he flees and is chased by a persistent FBI agent. Dylan travels to a deserted island to unravel the mystery behind his brother's death, only to find the area besieged by a group of heavily armed mercenaries. They want something that his brother hid. To survive, Dylan will have to rely on his cunning and tactical skills.

Mediocre action movie. The story is very weak, but that's okay with this genre. Unfortunately, the effect is not too good either. The film ripples on, almost to boredom. There is enough action but that is fairly standard and saltless. The film also lacks suspense. Eastwood seems to be applying for the new action hero ala Stallone or Schwarzenegger, but unfortunately falls through the ice. The rest of the actors run on autopilot. Gibson's role is limited and doesn't really make sense with his status. Leave. 1.5/2.0

Well, with the actors participating in this film (Famke Janssen, which plastic surgeon has beaten her up so badly?) there is one thing that is thoroughly wrong: saying 'YES' to this drifting cardboard script, soulless and uninspired direction and the sleepless action. surrounded by ideas nicked from other scripts (Bourne, Bond, Indiana Jones) and the apparently full conviction that the average action fan doesn't need much more. What a dragon of a movie... let go, let go!

I was looking forward to an action movie that wouldn't last too long. This movie appealed to me, mainly because of the cast and a popularity spike on Netflix. Everything about this movie was simple. The story wasn't much, but I don't mind that much in an action movie. And Oscar-worthy acting performances are not necessary for me either. Still, everything was disappointing. The acting was uninspiring to say the least, and that of everyone who took part in this film. It seemed as if Eastwood didn't feel like it and Mel Gibson and Famke Janssen clearly went for an easy payday. Moreover, the film was nowhere exciting or fascinating and the action scenes were not spectacular. Much more lived here.
