Ry Weston was one of the top cowboys on the professional rodeo circuit until the day he killed someone. He is sentenced to life in prison and has to serve his time in the Bronwood State Penitentiary in Montana. Ry works on the prison ranch and is also the best rider on the prison rodeo circuit. Clay Treyton is a young cowboy who is in the same prison for two years for beating up two police officers. Clay also really wants to come and work at the ranch. Although Ry is not happy with this at first, he decides to train the up and coming talent.
