Singaporean director JD Chua delivers a monster film that takes the wrong approach, as there was clearly a lack of funding. The odd choice to feature the monster constantly on screen after half an hour is a prime example, making the stiff effects immediately noticeable. Incidentally, the design, aside from the effects, is rather infantile and feels rather contrived, making the effect seem rather laughable. The acting isn't particularly strong, but the setting on the dark train tracks is well-chosen, and the first half hour flows quite smoothly. Keeping the production a bit more minimal and calm could have done wonders; instead, you have a film that constantly strives for sensationalism and simply can't afford it.
