Ik heb de acht films tijdens deze kerstvakantie allemaal weer eens gezien. Mijn top 8 is wel enigszins veranderd:

3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
4. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
5. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
6. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
7. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
8. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone
De nummers 1 tot en met 4 zijn voor mij duidelijk de beste films van de HP-reeks. Mijn nummer 5, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", neemt een middenpositie in en mijn nummers 6 t/m 8 vind ik de minste films (relatief gezien).

Dus omdat het het boek volgt is het automatisch de beste film in de reeks? Chamber of Secrets is veruit het minste boek uit heel de saga dus ik kan begrijpen als mensen dit als laatste zetten want de andere verfilmingen (en boeken) zijn gewoonweg interessanter. Dat een echte Potter fan nooit de film als laatste in een lijst zou zetten is complete nonsens natuurlijk
Nee hoor, deel 2 is een keurige film dankzij: het verhaal, de muziek, Richard Harris en de mooie beelden zoals de slang. Dit is echt nostalgie en ik vind het altijd vervelend als mensen zeggen dat het té kinderachtig is gemaakt. De boeken waren nou eenmaal ook zo. Deze film kan ik me tenminste nog herinneren, deel 5 en 6 zijn pas een schande. Vooral deel 6 wanneer Sneep zegt dat hij de halfbloed prins was, ehh en? Dat komt totaal niet over. Deze film staat als een huis en ondanks de lange speelduur blijf je aandacht kijken. En mede daardoor vind ik dat je CoS NOOIT als laatste kan neerzetten want dan moet je nodig eens deel 2 herkijken

De eerste drie Potter films waren toch wel de beste. The Chamber of Secrets blijft met stip mijn favoriet. De magische sfeer is in deze film op zijn sterkt. Die vliegende auto blijf ik geweldig vinden. Na the Prisoner of Azkaban werd het allemaal wat minder. De magische sfeer is in de latere films veel minder aanwezig dan in de eerdere films.
Ook stoorde ik me enorm in de latere films aan die oninteressante puberale liefdesverhaaltjes. De liefdesverhaaltjes maken de latere films onnodig langdradig en het leidt alleen af waar het verhaal werkelijk om draait. In the Half-Blood Prince is het werkelijk waar het ergst gesteld met die liefdes verhaaltjes. Ik vind het mede om die reden ook de slechtste Potter film.
Deathly Hallows: Part 2 vind ik trouwens geen slechte film. Maar de film valt wel tegen. Ik had veel meer van de slag om Zweinstein willen zien en het uiteindelijke duel tussen Potter en Voldemort valt ook tegen.
Wat ik trouwens ook zonde vind is dat John Williams alleen maar de eerste 3 Potter films van muziek heeft mogen voorzien. Williams wist voor Harry Potter hele goede magische muziek te componeren. Jammer dat hij in latere films met wisselend succes werd vervangen.

De boeken zijn door een en dezelfde auteur geschreven en de films zijn door verschillende regisseurs verfilmd en dat vind ik jammer.
Zo vind ik het bijzonder storend dat in deel 1 Tom van de Lekkende Ketel door een andere acteur wordt gespeeld als in deel 3 De gevangene van Azkaban.
Deze regisseur (van deel 3 dus) had wat mij betreft alle zeven delen mogen maken, hoewel Columbus het ook niet slecht deed.

1.Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban wat een stijlbreuk met de vorige twee, nieuwe director, nieuwe wetten en wat voor wetten, zéér sterke film waar weinig tot niks op valt aan te merken, dementors zijn exact zo donker en angstaanjagend als ze moeten zijn, Sirius Black komt voor het eerst in beeld, die transformatie van Lupin is ook top gedaan, volgt het boek behoorlijk gedwee met toch eigen elementen, met voorsprong de beste uit de hele reeks. 4,5*
2.Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: part I, vind de stukken waarin ze rondtrekken in een tent zeer leuk, veel mensen net niet maar goed. Je voelt ook dat dit perfecte voorbereiding is richting de allerlaatste film 4*
3.Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: part II, sterk slot wat op zich al een prestatie is na zo'n reeks films gebaseerd op zo'n enorm populaire boeken. 4*
Halfblood Prince, Order of the Phoenix, Goblet of Fire, 3,5*, twee eerste 3*, die bekijk ik ook veel minder graag de eerste twee.
