Fine.

Not a bad second film this from Hyett. He decided not to follow the same path as he did with his debut The Seasoning House. With Howl he also proves to be able to handle other parts of the horror genre, but I didn't find it very special in the end.

In any case, Day decided to return for Howl again, but didn't star this time. Speleers was allowed to take on this task in Howl. He does quite well, although there is no role in this that I really thought was exceptionally good. Yet everyone does it properly and the characters manage to give just enough color to remain fun.

Visually at least quite attractive. The woods are creepy and menacing and the cinematography is okay. A setting like this is also nice, with some people hidden in a train from an outside threat. I do think it's a shame that these have to be werewolves (there's no point in putting this in spoilers, any moron would know with a title like Howl) because those aren't the most exciting threats in my opinion.

Those werewolves don't look very exciting either, once they come into view the film also starts to lose its power. In the end it leads to a fairly disappointing and boring finale, despite the fact that there is a small twist to the concept. Not a zombie virus, but a werewolf virus. Found it pretty funny.

Camera work is also just not intense enough and the tension is almost non-existent. Too bad because the location does bring the right atmosphere and Hyett certainly proves that he has a certain vision, but Howl is significantly less than his debut. Too bad, but it's no different. Looking forward to his future projects.

Very good movie. I don't normally like English movies, but this one was fantastic. I also enjoyed the monsters, they were brilliant. And they also came into the picture well. You don't see that often
