Atmospheric.

That's about it, because the film remains tame throughout its entire runtime and doesn't really excel in many areas. But the atmosphere, which largely results from the graceful shots and strong soundtrack (a bit of a mix of classical and ambient), fortunately manages to elevate this film well above the average. The concept is otherwise quite tried and tested, but is worked out in such a subtle way that the film also manages to distinguish itself just that little bit in that area. A considerable role for Suhl too. 3*.

To be honest, I had to watch this movie in two sessions. Very slow build-up where the movie only gets interesting in the second part. But even then the level is not higher than an average horror movie in my opinion. The character Marie is played well and the atmosphere is okay.

But in terms of tension and story the film remains below par. The mystery surrounding her and the parents did not come across so well and remained somewhat superficial, vague. Give me Let The Right One. 5/10

In order to financially support her father [Lars Mikkelsen] to provide her sick and catatonic mother [Sonja Richter] with the necessary care, 16-year-old Marie [Sonia Suhl] starts working in the fishing industry on the small island where she lives. There she is confronted with structural sexism and even becomes the target of sexual assault. These developments coincide with physical developments that cause fear, also in herself. One of the many body horror films from the 10s that distinguishes itself by its setting and Suhl's strong acting, but the development of the basic idea is quite predictable.
