Great film, exciting, captivating and mysterious. Beautifully filmed and pleasantly paced, with excellent acting, especially by the younger actors.

The ending is perhaps a bit over the top and hits the wrong note, both in terms of music and plot development. But overall a great and original sf movie that might remind you of District 9 at times. The characters are not too flat but very human.

I was just wondering how Nic damaged his legs...crossing the water?

Very nice sf-thriller, although other genres are certainly touched upon. The film is captivating from the first to the last minute, with a lot of tension (sometimes even a bit scary) and above all a huge box of mystery. It breathes a nice difficult atmosphere, there is excellent acting by young people (Fishburne is very static) and above all it is cinematographic to feast, despite the fact that it does not have a large budget. It is therefore not in CGI, but in beautiful slomos and good imaging.

The mysterious quality may go a bit too far, you have to be able to handle that. Not all ends are made, some things are really for sake or mystery and have no logical explanation. Some character choices also feel illogical (hello, talk to each other). I wonder how long the director and the writer have been hesitating to make the ending the way it is now. Maybe a little too much and not quite fitting, on the other hand quite daring. Either way, it feels fresh in this genre.

Very nicely designed film with a tantalizing, mysterious atmosphere that eventually culminates in a beautiful action film. What starts as a road movie quickly becomes a small, surprising spectacle, in which answers are lacking, but in which the director succeeds well in evoking an uneasy atmosphere of unease. 4*
