Mediocre film about a Japanese woman who travels to America thinking she will find a bag with money from a movie. A fun and special true story, which unfortunately results in a somewhat boring road movie. Slow, and not too much happens. And even though Rinko Kikuchi does a good job in the title role, her character didn't really captivate me. The film also looks good.

Strange film about a lonely and mentally disturbed young woman who searches for the treasure that Buscemi buried in the film Fargo. . It results in a somewhat bizarre and dreary psychological drama about a woman who wants to achieve the absurd goal she has set for herself. I didn't find it boring at all, you are too intensely drawn into Kumiko's bizarre world for that. From an anonymous Japanese city that produces loners on an assembly line to the winter plains of Minnesota where she receives the necessary help and support. But as a point of criticism, I actually found the Kumiko character to be rather clumsy (just like the music, which is more appropriate for a horror film) and not very believable, but at least the ending felt correct... Nice to see.

Crazy, dryly funny film about a lonely Japanese woman (Rinko Kikuchi) who comes to the conclusion that the bag of money buried in the film Fargo actually exists. Armed with little more than a homemade treasure map, she travels to the United States to try her luck. In terms of plot, that's about it, but the slightly surreal tone is well-hit and the adventures of the main character are depicted in an entertaining and disarming way.
