Deprogrammed plot

This documentary shows how deprogramming works, a movement that aims to restore the damaged mindset of brainwashed cultists. Deprogrammed gives the viewer a virtual walk into the mental world of cult indoctrination and the phenomenon of deprogramming. Step by step, the viewer moves into a virtual landscape that gives context to the experiences and memories of a former member of the Unification Church, a skinhead and a jihadist. As guides, they explain in their own words how the machinations of brainwashing and peer pressure led them to (extremist) ideologies.
