The Confession plot
Katie Lapp, a young Amish woman, questions the strict rules of her faith and is therefore ostracized from the community. Katie - who now calls herself Katherine Mayfield - goes in search of her birth mother. However, she is seriously ill and Katie must hurry to find her before it's too late. But in the world of electric light, telephone and many other modern things, Katie finds herself in a maze of greed and betrayal.
