Simon Keller (John Cusack), an American thief, arrives in a foreign land where he searches for a driver for a getaway car. Instead of hiring someone from the underworld, he takes a driving lesson with former Formula 1 driver Peter Roberts (Thomas Jane), who now works as a driving instructor. When Keller robs a bank during class, Roberts has no choice but to use his driving skills to stay out of the hands of the police and mafia.
