Die Schwarzen Brüder plot
Eleven-year-old Giorgio lives in the mountain village of Sognono in Switzerland. His family is poor but happy. Until his mother is seriously injured by a forest fire and his father cannot pay the medical costs. Out of sheer necessity, father sells Giorgio to 'the man-with-the-scar' who wants to earn money from him. Giorgio has to work as a chimney sweep in Milan.
