Milos Forman is one of the most successful European film directors in Hollywood. His 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' and 'Amadeus' were awarded many Oscars, and other films were also distinguished: 'Hair', 'Ragtime', 'The People vs Larry Flynt', 'Man on the Moon'. Films about outsiders, such as he himself was an outsider in his native Czechoslovakia under the communist regime, and later in America as a European. Gradually it becomes clear why the universal theme of freedom of expression and self-development always plays a major role in his life and films. The director tells in a disarming and eloquent manner about the transition from communism to capitalism.
