The Appearing plot

"It took her soul. You're next."

Detective Michael moves from the big city to a nice little town with his wife Rachel after they are emotionally devastated by the sudden death of their daughter. Michael takes a job at the sheriff's office, thinking that not much will happen in the quiet village. However, on his first day, Michael is asked to join Sheriff Hendricks to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a teenage girl. She turns out to be locked up in a mental institution. When they meet her doctor, to Michael's disbelief, the girl is found to be dealing with a dark, supernatural entity.
