Gabrielle plot
The musically talented but mentally handicapped Gabrielle wants to stand on her own two feet and is looking for love, but is held back by her condition. Things accelerate when she falls in love with a young man she meets in a choir for the mentally handicapped, who faces the same challenges as her. They enter into a relationship, ignoring objections from their families and social workers, who fear they cannot handle adult relationships. Gabrielle is determined to prove them wrong as she overcomes a series of hurdles.
