The fire warden Nihat hides from his own conscience by taking refuge in a remote watchtower. The young Seher flees her surroundings in the basement of a rural bus station. Both carry a secret that they can no longer keep hidden when they meet.

A film about two characters who seek shelter and loneliness because of a (traumatic) event in their lives. Re-energizing for some, fleeing from others, away from responsibilities. Beautiful, that watchtower that towers above the landscape, where monitoring any potential fires is paramount. The little communication through short briefings is the minimum of communication Nihat has to do.
Two unhappy souls who meet and try to understand each other. Who find comfort with each other. The dialogues are sparse, staring into the void (and the beautiful landscape) brings something poetic. However, the film drags on a bit too much, especially towards the end.
A film that did well at various festivals. A director to keep an eye on!
