Our Nixon plot
"Now more than ever."
Filmmaker Penny Lane comes across a treasure hidden in American archives through an acquaintance: hours of amateur film footage of Richard Nixon during his presidency, made by three of his closest collaborators. Chief of Staff HR Haldeman, adviser John Ehrlichman, and assistant Dwight Chapin were avid amateur filmmakers, capturing their work in the White House and beyond on Super8 footage—up to and including a historic visit to Communist China, where Nixon became the first U.S. president to set foot on the ground.
