Sanjûsangen-dô, Tôshiya Monogatari plot

Raised as an orphan by the kind innkeeper Okinu, young archer Kazuma wants to break Hashino Kanzaemon's record. With this, Kazuma wants to avenge his father, who once lost the record to Hashino Kanzaemon and then committed seppuku (suicide). However, Hashino Kanzaemon's friends don't want Kazuma to break the record and they pressure him in all sorts of ways. Kazuma then seeks the help of samurai veteran Karatsu Kanbei.
