September plot
Summer is coming to an end. In a cozy home in Vermont, a group of people prepare for the end of the vacation. When the power goes out due to the storm, the atmosphere is suddenly very different by candlelight. Melancholy Lane (Mia Farrow), who lives in her mother's house, fears she will lose the love of Peter (Sam Waterston). The latter did indeed fall in love with Stephanie (Dianne Wiest), Lane's girlfriend, who in turn is coveted by Howard (Denholm Elliott), an elderly neighbor.
