"One American's Journey into the Truth"
In 1936, corporate lawyer Joseph E. Davies is called away from vacation by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Roosevelt appoints him ambassador to the Soviet Union. En route to Russia with his wife Marjorie and daughter Emlen, Davies makes a stopover in Germany, where he witnesses the military build-up. By the time Davies leaves Germany, he is convinced that Hitler's government is determined to go to war.
