Vares - Kaidan Tien Kulkijat plot

The body of a young woman is found in a deserted area of Finland. The finder, a former pastor, hires Jussi Vares to investigate the crime. It's the start of the most bizarre case of Vares' career. He travels to Kahdenvirranmaa, a poor village in the grip of a powerful cult. Fortunately, a room is available in the only hotel, and Vares meets the hotel manager and the village idiot. He soon discovers that there are a lot of strange figures in the village. The local mental hospital's records are full of dark secrets, and the chief doctor seems to have half the village as a patient. Then Vares himself is admitted to the institution against his will.
