A relentless sun, a parched earth, and a failed economy have left a small Texas town nearly deserted. For ten years, Promise, in Texas, has seen one disaster after another. It is barren, broken and dying, only a dying town is desperately left behind. When a couple find a boy along the dusty road, all alone in no man's land with nothing but a mat under their arm, they take him with them in hopes of helping him. What they don't realize is that he has come to help them and the residents of Promise. No one knows who he is or where he comes from. Some think he is the answer to their prayers. Others think he is a runaway false prophet. All the boy wants to say is that he's come to help the city...
