The housing market is not doing well. Homes are on the market for longer and longer: in 2008 an average of 90 days and now more than 165 days. Prices are falling drastically, compared to the period before the crisis, prices are 15 percent lower. In 2008 Bas Lammers buys his dream house in a new residential area in De Goorn, fully convinced that his old house will be sold quickly. His new house will be completed in 2010 as a shell. The completion date of his new house is approaching, but Bas has not yet sold his house. There are hardly any viewers, and there is certainly no question of an offer. The financial tension is increasing, because the mortgage on his new house will also have to be paid soon. To make matters worse, more and more houses are being put up for sale in the street where his old house is for sale.
