Far too long and incompetently shot, it's undeniable that a film like Exit 101 isn't made with love for the genre. Director Doug Cole throws himself wholeheartedly into practical effects, even if they appear rather transparent due to budgetary constraints. As a viewer, you'll have to be somewhat forgiving to appreciate certain scenes, but a few grander moments are quite amusing. The filmmakers also try to inject some personality, but this ultimately only results in the running time stretching to a shocking 109 minutes. The somewhat amateurish design further lowers the average, but fans of budget-friendly films with a lot of passion will occasionally find something to enjoy.
