Hans Brinker plot

The story is set in the Netherlands – a land of frozen canals and clogs. The most exciting event of the year, the silver skate competition, is just around the corner. Hans and Greta Brinker would like to participate but they think they have little chance with their simple wooden skates while the others all have steel skates. But their father is very ill and the family is struggling to keep their heads above water. Only a miracle can give the children a chance to win.
