Skiing Everest plot
Mike Marolt and his twin brother Steve grew up in Aspen, where they climbed peaks over 4,200 meters with their father - the skier Max Marolt who competed in the 1960 Olympics. Later, with a small group of close friends, they skied the treacherous slopes of Alaska and the world's highest volcanoes in South America, before becoming the first Americans to ski above 8,000 feet and summit the Shisha Pangma in Tibet in 2000. This led them to the ultimate challenge: Skiing Mount Everest without the use of supplemental oxygen, without Sherpas to carry their gear, and without the help of guides to help them climb the peaks.
