The film has strong points: the surfing images and the protagonist Fettah and a weak side: Thekla Reuten. The ice queen Tekla let her flat character be a bit more superficial. Of course she is a beautiful woman, but it was all way too meaningless. Then just play the Russian in a Hollywood production. Initially I was really charmed by the structure and the atmosphere, but every now and then it flows a bit too calmly: just too little drama or mystery about what really drives the main character (pardon me, yes). As far as I'm concerned, the tension and the content (the interpretation of the theme of freedom) scores just under 3.5*

Moroccan surfer [Fettah Lamara] covers increasingly greater distances along the coast and experiences both the feeling of freedom on the Atlantic Ocean and the differences in culture. Could he sail to a better life by reaching the European mainland via Gibraltar? Episodic film contains many beautiful images of the Atlantic Ocean and a parade of spectacular slow motion images of spectacular stunts, interspersed with moody reflections on freedom, the beauty of the sea and the future. After half an hour the material is in fact finished and Van Ewijk repeats it several times.

A film with potential, but which defeats itself through its own laziness. Quite a good start and very atmospheric shot. It couldn't be otherwise with the ocean and the waves in the background. A film that revolves around freedom and achieving dreams in a better world.

But the film comes to a standstill at a certain point. Very repetitive, literally it seemed, and therefore of little interest. Difficult, a film that is of two minds.

It's fortunate that the images are worth it and allow you to dream away for a while. But otherwise I didn't think it was very good. Shame.
