One fine day, Agnès Tessier decides to change her life. She quits school to live with her friend Florence on the top floor of a flat in a deprived area. She soon finds a job at a chemical company. When her colleague Muriel is fired for not responding to her boss's advances, Agnès becomes a worker representative at the union out of indignation.
