"To capture the mother's heart, take the child's hand."
Austria, 1920. The son of an American diplomat befriends a mysterious baron. During one of his stories, he shows a war wound, in which the boy also wants to be injured. But then he is set aside by the baron for his seductive mother. The boy's jealousy and feelings of betrayal are out of control, leaving the boy intent on revenge.
