Prairie Love plot

North Dakota, United States. A mysterious wanderer finds an almost frozen local resident somewhere on the snowy plains, and he stops to help. He learns that the man is on his way to a pen pal who is in prison. The two have never met in person before and the bum sees his chance to do something about his lonely existence.
