La Pirogue plot

Baye Laye is the captain of a fishing canoe. Like many of his Senegalese compatriots, he dreams about new perspectives, which he can use to support his family better. When he receives an offer to lead one of the many prahus sailing to Europe via the Canary Islands, he hesitantly accepts the offer, knowing that there is a great risk involved. With a group of 30 men who do not all speak the same language, some of whom have never been to sea, Baye faces the many dangers of reaching the European coast.
