Marie Krøyer plot

The film is set at the beginning of the twentieth century. Marie is married to the world famous Danish painter PS Krøyer. They are among the most famous and admired couple in the country. All the famous men - politicians, businessmen, noblemen, scientists, writers and crowned heads - wish to be painted by him. After all, being portrayed by Krøyer is seen as a great honour. Marie, who adorns a number of Krøyer's paintings, is considered "the most beautiful woman in Europe". Together with their daughter Vibeke they experience all the best that life has to offer. However, this is the image to the outside world. In reality it is a living hell. Krøyer suffers from manic depression and syphilis. He can change from a cheerful and cheerful person to a foaming, insane monster who knows no limits. Also in his relationship with Marie and Vibeke.
