The Mystery Man plot

"Stark Drama! A Shadow Creeping Through the Night!"

Drunk journalist Larry Doyle runs amok with the editor and wakes up the next morning on a train bound for St. Louis. He can't remember how he got on the train. In his pockets he finds a dollar and a revolver. He discovers that he is involved in some crime plot and that he has had a brief flirtation with the beautiful Anne Olgivie. He sets out to find out exactly what's going on.
