Anything Goes plot
Showbiz partners Bill Benson and Ted Adams are preparing for a new show. Both leave for a vacation to Europe, where Bill searches for a candidate for the female lead. In London he discovers the sensational Patsy Blair, when she performs the song Anything goes during a show, and immediately contracts her. Meanwhile, in Paris, Ted meets nightclub singer Gaby Duval and is so impressed by her talents that he offers her a contract. Unbeknownst to the other, Bill and Ted bring their discoveries aboard the ship that will take them back to New York. Both couples rehearse separately for the grand finale, but then Gaby and Patsy discover that they both qualify for the female lead when only one is available.
