I have only seen the 'teaser trailer' of schram101, in my opinion it looks too much like battleship. and then to release it in the same year... bad effect. I can also tell from the trailer that there are indeed poor special effects and the image quality is minimal. maybe it seems bad because the real battleship is so much better, but what do you want if you try to copy it in a worse version.

Battleship vs. American Warship.

The idea is the same - aliens are coming to Earth, and the US Navy can't do anything with all its modern superweapons. Until the famous Iowa-class battleships are brought in. The original reportedly had a budget of $220 million, this rip-off 1.

And yes, you can see that difference. While the original was filmed on board the real USS Missouri, the ship in this film largely comes from the computer (ehh, yes, screenshots from some game) and some sloppily recreated pieces of chipboard (easily recognizable by the too dark gray color). ). Narratively it is a mess, and the condition of the ship is completely wrong - a strange mixture of the condition in 1945 and the later upgrades, and the disaster in the second turret in 1989 is completely forgotten. If you want to see something of the ship, you don't have to look, I'll just leave it at that.

It is equally absurd in what the actors have to do and how they play it. Intentionally, I assume, because Weathers and Van Peebles (the only ones I've seen in other films that I know of) could really do better. Still, with a little effort they could have made it a little more over the top nonsense, and it might have become a cult hit.

Or maybe that's what it actually is. In any case, The Asylum apparently saw enough of it to make a second part - ehh, to give a film that was already made under a different title this name, because otherwise it seems to have nothing to do with it at all. With Linda Hamilton. I have to see that too, of course.
