Daughter of Shanghai plot
Six strangers fly across the ocean in an unidentified plane. Among them are the fugitive smugglers Frank Barden and Andrew Sleete. To avoid being convicted, Barden and Sleete dump evidence against them over the ocean. Later, they approach the wealthy merchant Quan Lin with an urgent request to take the other strangers under his wing, but kill him when he refuses. His daughter Lan Ying then asks the wealthy but unreliable Mrs. Mary Hunt for help. Mary puts Lan Ying in touch with government agent Kim Lee.
