Eijanaika plot

After two centuries of isolationism, Japan opens its doors to international trade around 1860, especially with America. The influence of this 'westernization' has not always been positive. The story is seen through the eyes of a Japanese farmer, who has just spent several years in the United States after being shipwrecked.
